The Jerry West Statue was created and unveiled in 2007.
The Armature Stage -The enlargement process from maquette to full size sculpture is difficult and painstaking. Edmond Yue is pictured here welding the full size armature according to a specific size and angle. This process alone can take weeks.
Clay and steel can be very heavy, so a polyurethane foam is applied to the armature to decrease weight. The foam is carved to approximate the shape of the final sculpture.
After the foam stage is finished, the application of clay begins. Jamie used Roma plastelina for the Jerry West Statue. The clay is added from different angles to accurately capture the contours.
